Ms. Kirsten Burke Smith (M.S.Ed, M.S.Ed.) teaches ninth grade at the Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart in Buffalo, New York. Kirsten is a 2014 Teacher Award Recipient from the 9/11 Tribute Center, and serves as a PBS Digital Innovator. She has presented at several conferences on reading, literacy, foreign language, and educational technology.
The best part of her job is reminding her students that we are all connected. Teaching at her alma mater, Kirsten loves being a 21st-century educator. She does whatever she can to engage as many learners in her midst as possible.
By exploring new materials and methods for instruction, Kirsten is herself an active learner in the ever-changing world of educational technology. Drawing inspiration from the innovations of constant change, Kirsten seeks to create a positive, professional dialogue herein.
